Sherron Sheppard,
(PPA Certified,MEI, M.Photog, Cr.Photog, ASP, F-PPC, & Artist)

Sherron Sheppard began her career in photography 10 years ago after many years as a traditional artist. As an artist, Sherron taught watercolor techniques for fifteen years and was a seasonal instructor for eight years teaching watercolor painting at Yosemite National Park in the park's Summer Artist Program. Sherron has expanded her artistic touch into her photographic images and has won numerous awards for her creative style.

Sherron spent many years photographing weddings using unique and contemporary ideas to set her work apart from other photographers. In recognition for her creative style, in 2003 the Professional Photographers of California awarded Sherron "Photographer of the Year" in the Journalistic Wedding category.

Again in 2005, PPC awarded Sherron "Photographer of the Year", in a second category, the Illustrative. Once again, in March, 2006, Sherron has earned her third "Photographer of the Year", again in the Illustrative category. Plus, she was awarded PPC's 2006 overall "Photographer of the Year" with the highest print case total, 2 Judges Awards, Best of Show, A Kodak Gallery Award and the "People's Choice Award".

In January, 2006, Sherron received national recognition when the Professional Photographers of America awarded her the prestigious 2005 "Platinum Photographer of the Year" with 3 Loan Collection Images. Also, in 2006, Sherron was inducted into the American Society of Photographers (ASP), a "by invitation" society of professional photographic artists who hold PPA degrees and honor others who have achieved the highest levels of photographic excellence.

In January 2008 Sherron's image "A Passage of Time" scored a perfect score of 100 at the PPC Print Competitions and was awarded Best of Show. Her second print "Lonely Days, Lonely Nights" scored 96. PPC also awarded Sherron her fourth California "Photographer of the Year" in Illustrative, and overall "Photographer of the Year" with the highest print case total. In addition, Sherron was awarded the Canon Par Excellence Award and ASP State and Regional Awards, plus the PPA Certified Photographers High Score award. In March 2008, "A Passage of Time" scored another 100 at PPA's Electronic Imaging competition. At the 2008 PPA print competition Sherron received PPA 3 Loan Collection images and will be awarded a PPA Platinum Photographer of the Year in January 2009. Sherron will also receive her Master of Electronic Imaging degree inJanuary 2009.

Sherron has earned 5 PPA Loan collection images and 1 PPA Showcase image, 4 Fuji Masterpiece awards, 2 Kodak Gallery Awards, 4 Judges Awards and has exhibited her work nationally.

Sherron's paintings have been displayed in the Yosemite Art Center and her photographs have been shown in numerous photographic exhibitions. Her photographs have been featured three times on the covers of ProPhoto West Magazine. In addition, Sherron was the featured photographer in ProPhoto West Magazine, October 2005 & April 2006. Currently, Sherron presenting programs and Photoshop and Corel Painter workshops to amateur and professional photographers on the creative digital “art” world that has opened to photographers and how to elevate our images to a “Gallery Fine-Art” level. Sherron’s past programs and workshops include California Professional Photographers West Coast School, California Photographic Workshops, California Professional Photographers State Convention, WPPI (2008) and her private Equine “Digital Artistry in Motion” and "Digital Artistry with Impact" photoshop workshops.

Sherron is a PPA Certified Photographer and holds her Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsman degrees. She resides with her family in the beautiful coastal city of Ventura, California.
